Octopus

Fukushima and the Angry Octopus

I’ve been getting a lot of animal sightings lately. Last week I discovered a mouse sitting inside of my office doorway at work. He stared up me as if I was a long lost friend. He was really cute too, and he didn’t run away when I approached him either. Sadly, I believed he was injured due to the fact there was a mousetrap in my office (I didn’t put it there), and it had been turned over. The unlucky mouse probably escaped the trap but had gotten hurt in the process. A coworker of mine released the mouse outside, so hopefully he will be okay.

Mouse is a sign to pay attention to details, like your checkbook or bank account. For me in particular, mouse was telling me that I was doing too much and juggling too many projects. I needed to prioritize and focus on one thing at a time because I tend to do too much at once.

Later that week an injured doe had run across the road while I was driving to work. Something from the inside of the deer was hanging out of her backside (I will spare you the gory details), but I’m sure the animal was in a lot of distress, poor thing. Deer is the symbol of gentleness, so I took note to be extra kind to myself.

Most everyone I know is going through some kind of intensity right now and could use the energy of deer to calm things down a bit, to be kinder to others and to self. This type of intensity will continue throughout 2014 due to the fact that humanity is in a squeezebox of change because we are ALL being pushed to evolve individually and collectively.

Still, the animals that had crossed my path brought with them an additional symbol of injury and that created a disturbing eddy in my tranquil pond. There was another message coming only I didn’t know it yet, not until I had the dream.

Later that day I read a blog post about the radiation leaking from the Fukushima power plant. Now, just so you know, I don’t trust the MSM (main stream media) to tell me the truth anymore, so I was never really certain if they were hyping up the nuclear radiation leak or playing it down because of their own hidden agenda. I never got ‘hooked’ into the drama unfolding but now I believe we have a serious problem on our hands and something must be done (I firmly believe that all of our environmental problems will get resolved eventually, and I don’t mean decades from now, more like in the next few years it will start). There are solutions, of course, like releasing suppressed technology and patents to clean up this nightmare but that’s another topic.

Then I had the dream.

It happened in the early part of the morning, around 5 a.m., since that is when I seem to be remembering my dreams the most. This dream was like watching a movie and I was in the witness role. I observed some dead or dying whales and large fish that had washed up along the rocky shoreline. They were piled up by some rocks along the Pacific Coast. Scientists were trying to take a sample of the flesh to determine the level of the radiation that had killed them but it was too dangerous to get near the animals (I don’t know what part was so dangerous, but I assumed it was the radiation).

The dream scene cuts to a diver that has come out of the ocean. He looks like something out of a Jacques Cousteau episode (Remember him?). A large octopus has entangled itself around him. The diver tries to get a hold of the octopus, but it keeps moving around his chest and neck and won’t let go of him. Right then I sensed the octopus’ intense anger at the man, even though he was trying to help the animal. I became concerned that the diver would get injured if he didn’t get the octopus off before it could use it’s beak on the man. The dream ended.

Still pondering the dream, I drove to work again and on the way there, a seagull flew in front of my car, dropping a slice of pizza it must have stolen from somewhere. At the same time I had to come to a stop for a light. There was a van in front of me with a painted sign that said, ULTRA CLEAN. Did you say Ultra Man?

And then it all hit me—the sea gull was another symbol for the Pacific Ocean, reiterating the message I had received in the dream about the octopus and the injured animals on the beach. This connected to injured mouse and deer. Then the cleaning van, Ultra Clean, triggered my intuitive mind to recall the Ultra Man T.V. series of my childhood that had started in Japan during 1966. We could certainly use Ultra Man’s help in this disaster. Fukushima is in Japan. The message was loud and clear: Clean up the ocean because the animals are dying. The octopus had become the unwilling spokesman. And he was pissed.

Wouldn’t you be angry?

Octopus is a very interesting symbol. The octopus has eight legs (8 being the symbol for infinity, power, regeneration) and can detach a limb at will to get away from predators. What things can we cut or get rid of in our lives? What do we need to leave in order to bring about the best possible or highest good in our lives? It is also the symbol of the spiral, which is the most ancient of all symbols and is connected to the Grouse who does the spiral dance.

I see the detachment symbol to mean that we should get rid of our dependence on nuclear energy and find another source of alternative fuel, like solar power for example. There are other alternative energies being developed, like free energy (Nicola Tesla), and I believe we will see some breakaway technology being released sometime this year, or next. Be that as it may, we are killing the oceans and other life on this precious planet and can’t continue on this trajectory without some dire consequences. We are the problem, but we are also the solution. What solutions do you think would help?

I’d love to see a happy octopus.

Very interesting exegesis of the images. I hope you are right, and that humankind will wise up sooner rather than later. And you know how I am about animals, so I wish the injuries were all metaphors, but it was sadly not the case for the mouse and deer. I can only hope they will be okay, but I have doubts about the deer, for sure.

I guess ultimately we are all exactly like the animals, subconsciously conjured or otherwise. WE as people are injured, too, on the inside. And we’re taking Mother Earth and her other children down with us. We must change for all of us.

It’s quite a strange coincidence that I reposted a poem on Facebook this morning which also uses being stranded on a beach as a metaphor, only to read this a few hours later.

Finally, I want to say how much I love octopi. Such an amazing creature, so intelligent, so miraculous in physical abilities, and yet so mysterious to us. A truly magnificent avatar it is that found you.

    Namaste, Shelley.

Hey Jord, thanks for visiting my blog and making a comment 🙂

You are a shining Warrior for our beloved animals that don’t have a voice, because you are their voice, and I’m so glad that you are using it!

Yes indeed, it is very sad how wounded Gaia Sophia is, and all of her children, every living thing, including rocks, which I believe have consciousness as well. But I do have great hopes that the tide is turning for the better even as I write this! I can feel the shifting taking place as more Light shines in every crevice, exposing all that was hidden, and the dark things are scrambling … being a sensitive does have it’s advantages lol.

I’m going to have to meditate on Octopus and connect with her to see what else she has to say 🙂

Namaste, Jord, and Blessings to you 🙂

Shelley, I love this story and I know how connected to nature and the warning signs it sends us. I’m afraid to tell you that the accounts of dying fish are true and we along with Mother Earth really need Ultra man. Great!!!! post!!!

Thank you Marie! I’ve been reading similar accounts of dying fish and it’s incredibly upsetting. But I also keep a lamp light of faith that we will be implementing new energy systems very soon because we have to at this point!

      p.s. I love your blog 🙂
