Pet Portraits

With a B.A. in Illustration, and awards for her artwork, Shelley has the skills and experience to create an outstanding portrait of your pet. All of her work is created with superb attention to detail and every portrait is made with the highest quality. She will strive to capture the essence and personality of your pet through gesture, color, composition and her intuitive guidance. Primed cotton canvas with acrylic paint is her chosen medium, but she also works in graphite (pencil) and colored pencil. Let her know what medium you would prefer.

SIZES & PRICING:

8×10 – $175 (1 pet only)

11×14 – $225 (1 pet only)

12×16 – $275 (2 pets max + $100 per extra pet)

16×20 – $350 (2 pets max + $100 per extra pet)

Base price shown for one pet per canvas and plain background with the color of your choice.
Additional pets: $100 per pet
*Scene or custom backgrounds: $100 extra

How I Work

Step 1 – Order

To start the commission of your own pet portrait, simply email me, and tell me what portrait size you like and include any special requests.  Do you need the portrait for a specific date? Let me know. Turnaround time for pet portraits is within 4-6 weeks although this can vary according to my workload. Please let me know if shipping will be required.
**Shipping is not included. Cost will cover ground delivery and insurance.

Step 2 – Images

Email me the best photos you have of your pet. Your images must be of high resolution and good quality because I will need plenty of detail so that I can clearly see their features.  I cannot combine photos or drastically alter any image. We can certainly discuss which photo would work best to create the finest painting of your pet. I keep the backgrounds monotone to accentuate your pet, and I will work with you regarding any color preferences that you may have. But if you decide that you want a custom scene or background, I will do this for an extra fee*

Step 3 – Deposit

I will send you an invoice and request for a deposit of $50, which is required to secure the commission of your pet portrait. Payment can be made via Credit Card or Paypal.  The balance is to be paid upon completion

Step 4 – Finish

Once your pet portrait is finished I will email you an image of the painting to see if you are happy with the result, and if any adjustments need to be made

Step 5 – Final Payment and Delivery

When you are satisfied with your finished pet portrait and the remaining balance has been paid, I will organize shipping**.  Your artwork will be securely packaged and fully protected in transit
